A huge fire broke out in Prayagraj Mahakumbh:
On 30 January, Thursday a massive fire broke out in a tent city near Chhatnag Ghat and Nageshwar Ghat Setor 22. This crippling fire burnt a dozen of tents, these tents were established in the Vedic Tent City, it was a private company setup which was located near the fair towards Jhansi. However, no news of any casualty was reported in this incident, fire brigade vehicles extinguished the fire and many administrative were also assessing the situation.
How did this all start?
The main cause of which the fire broke out is still unknown, according to Chief Fire Officer Pramod Kumar Sharma, the Fire department was on their toes and hurriedly reached the sport as soon as they heard about the situation in Sector 22, reported indicated that around 15 tents were engulfed in fire, before any more damage could occur fire department controlled the fire, the real reason is still not clear, the initial estimates suggest that the possible reason could be a short circuit.
Luckily no one was harmed, but serious measures are being taken, while addressing the situation, it has been told that this tent was set up temporarily and comes under the Chamanganj out area.
These incidents are frequent
This is not the first fire at the Maha Kumbh. On January 19, a major fire broke out in the Gita Press camp in Gorakhpur, engulfing more than 150 cottages. The camp was located at Sector 19, near the Shastri Bridge. The administration suspected leakage from a small cylinder behind the fire, but the Gita Press administration opined that it was an interlocked result of outside interference. Apart from the fire incidents, another major incident occurred in Maha Kumbh on Wednesday, suggesting increasing crowd is getting harder to tackle.
What do experts say?
Crores of devotees attended this significant event, it posed a security risk for the management. Experts suggest stricter rules should be implemented to tackle incidents like these. Regular security inception in items like, cylinders and electrical wirings also be regularly checked.
