What is C-DAC
C-DAC Centre for Development of Advanced Computing is the premier R&D organization of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology for carrying out Research and development in IT, Electronics and associated areas.
C-DAC was set up in 1988 to build supercomputers in the context of the import of supercomputers by the SA.
C-DAC is building generations of supercomputers. The first computer made by C-DAC was PARAM in 1988.
C-DAC was established in 1985 and started building Indian Language Computing Solutions with the setting up of the GIST group; the National Centre for Software Technology also started work in Indian Language Computing around the same period.
In 1988 this came under the hold of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Electronic Research and Development Centre of India with various constituents starting as adjunct entities of various State Electronic Corporations had been brought under the hold (now MeitY) 1988.
Currently, my C-DAC focuses on various aspects of applied electronics, technology, and applications. With a period C-Dac has started education and training programs.
