The good news for the Punjab people is that the Punjab government has started new services for those who are planning to apply for passports, making the verification process easy.

Once you apply for the passport, this matter was always a matter of concern how the verification process would happen, when the police would come to the house, if the police would come and I wouldn’t be in the house. Who is coming to the house for verification? Now all these tensions are going to vanish with this new service.

What is this new service launched by the Punjab police?

In a bid to provide transparent and time-bound citizen services in the state, Punjab Police on Tuesday launched a streamlined and modern system for passport verification, which will provide citizens with the facility of pre-verification SMS and applicants will also be able to give their feedback through post-verification SMS.

Sharing details in this regard, Special Director General of Police (Special DGP) Community Affairs Division (CAD) Gurpreet Kaur Deo said that the Punjab Police is working day and night to provide smooth and efficient services to the people.

He said that from February 5, 2025, the Punjab Police will send a notification to the applicant through SMS from ‘PB Sanjh’, which will contain the name of the verifying officer and the date and time of the meeting. This improvement aims to reduce unnecessary uncertainty and make the applicant fully aware of his verification process.

Feedback can be given about the conduct of Officer

The Special DGP said that apart from this, citizens will also be able to send a report regarding the conduct of the concerned officer in their feedback through post-verification SMS.

To provide feedback, applicants will receive a post-verification SMS from ‘PB Sanjh’, which will have a hyperlink to the feedback form. He said that applicants can share any of their suggestions, comments, or problems through the feedback form.

He said that this feedback mechanism will help Punjab Police to further improve the standards of services and promptly resolve the problems faced by the citizens.

So this is the good news for everyone now the passport mechanism will be easy, and corruption will also be controlled. Every official who comes for verification will know if there is any conduct-related issue, the applicant can complain about it.
