Last few weeks North India witnessed an immense drop in temperature as winter tightened its Hold. This plunge intensifies majorly in Punjab, Delhi UP Haryana, and some parts of Rajasthan.
As a result, the areas experience a cold wave intense fog, and lack of sun’s warmth. Marking a stark departure from the average seasonal temperature, Delhiites experienced a 4-degree temperature. whereas Rajasthan’s Churu witnessed the coldest night of this season. The chilling cold wave and dense fog impacted the market and travel due to lower footfall.
Climate Forecast
As the intense fog covered some parts it is predicted a low to heavy rainfall in the region across Delhi Punjab Northern part of Rajasthan and Haryana over the next week.

Dense Fog was seen shrouding the region turning Sunday a ‘NO Sun day’. The impact on visibility can be seen by dropping less than 50 meters. As per IMD, Delhi will experience rain at midnight, which hopefully reduces the discomfort of visibility to some extent though the cold wave will prevail.

UP: some areas of UP experienced Dense fog on 19 and 20 January. The week will bring rain to the area.
Rajasthan: Western disturbances can cause an upsurge in cold waves and rain, and hailstorms can mark the place. Dense fog will end once rain comes into action from 20 January.
Punjab: Partially Cloudy. Expect widespread areas of Fog and haze, reducing visibility at times. The highest temperature 17°C the lowest can go up to 4 degrees at night.

IMD has issued advisories for residents farmers and devotees of Kumbh urging prevention and cure against the cold wave.
School’s Physical classes remained shut for the last week but may now be back to normal from coming Monday.
