New Delhi: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is continuously launching new satellites and ISRO is creating new records. Recently, after launching a satellite a few weeks ago, now 1 new satellite is going to be launched.
On Wednesday, 29 January 2025, India will create a record by launching its 100th satellite. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will launch GSLV F-15 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Srihrikota. This will be India’s 100th satellite which will be successfully established in space.
ISRO is close to creating history, preparing to make a new record
ISRO gave information on its social media handle X and said, “Mark your calendar, GSLV F-15/NVS-02 will be launched from Shriharikota on 29th January 2025 at 6:23 min.
The GSLV-F15 rocket equipped with an indigenous cryogenic stage is ready to put the NVS-02 satellite into geosynchronous transfer orbit.
When did the first launch take place?
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched its first satellite on 10th August 1979 from Shriharikota, the largest satellite to be launched from its satellite launch vehicle (SLV). After almost 46 years, India is launching its 100th satellite.
Let us tell you that GSLV F-15 is the 17th launch of the GSLV class or the 11th flight of the indigenous cryogenic stage.

ISRO has said that with the standard I-2K bus platform the NVS-02 satellite is the second generation of navigation satellite. It will have a power handling capacity of 3kW, it can lift the weight of 2,250kg, ranging payload in C-band, navigation payload in L1, L5, and S bands. This will be positioned at 111.75 degrees E replacing IRNSS-1E.
NavIC will provide two types of navigation services which are Managed Services (RS) and Standard Positioning Services (SPS). Navic’s SPS positioning accuracy will be more better than 20 meters and the accuracy timing will be better than 40nanoseconds in the service area.
