Amazon to launch premium range of AI devices

Tech-giant Amazon is considering introducing a new and more premium range of AI-powered devices that would run on their cloud-based voice service, Alexa. To get more information, read the article below.

Amazon’s Premium Strategy:

The devices chief of Amazon, Panos Panay is considering the addition of a new premium tier of products for the upcoming generation of Amazon gadgets that are powered with Alexa. He further stated that whether the product from Amazon would be of low range or high range, Amazon would provide the same care and affection to its users. According to Pranay, these products whether it be speakers or any other device, would feature enhanced battery, security features, etc.

He further added that their new AI-powered assistant, Alexa+ would sit at the center of their new ecosystem.

What is Alexa+?

Alexa+ is the next generation of Amazon’s AI-powered chatbot. While it has not launched yet and is expected to launch within a few weeks, it is being considered as a new, upgraded, smarter, and personalized version of the old Amazon Alexa.

Features of Alexa+

Increased capabilities: The all-new Alexa+ can manage, and control your home, make bookings, and even help in complex tasks like booking flight tickets, etc.
Price: The Alexa+ is set to launch at a price of $19.99 per month for non-prime users whereas, for Amazon Prime members, it will be available free of cost.
The tech behind it: As the new generation of Amazon Alexa would be powered by Generative AI, it would be even more capable of understanding and interacting with humans and natural language.

Why is Amazon planning to add a premium range of devices?

There can be many reasons for Amazon to include a premium range of products, Some of these reasons can be:

Amazon wants to increase the user experience: These high-end products would feature, new and better designs and overall would have better quality
Advanced Tech: As these products belong to the new generation of technology, they will feature all the new additions of AI in their products.
To create competition in the market: Amazon wants to be considered as competition in the premium technological segment that other tech giants like Google, Samsung, etc currently rule.

It is widely believed that under the direction of Devices Division head Panos Panay, there will be a great improvement to the Amazon business strategy and in the overall quality of products too.
