Chandigarh News: Bank employees opened a front for their rights, raised the demand of ‘five days work and two days rest’
News is coming from Tri-City that bank employees have opened the front against the government for their rights. This is not only on the Tricity also thousand of employees across the countries demonstrated outside their banks and raised their demand for five day work week and permanent recruitment.
More than 500 bank employees of Tri-City raised their voices in the demonstration held under the banner of the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) in Chandigarh.
What did Sanjay Sharma say about this?
UFBU Tri-City Chandigarh Unit Convenor Sanjay Sharma said that in the agreement reached in March 2024, the Indian Banks Association (IBA) and the unions had agreed on a 5-day work week, but the government has not yet implemented it. Bank employees say that when this rule is applicable in government offices and the corporate sector, then why the delay in banks?
UFBU spokesperson said sarcastically, “In today’s digital age, banking has become 24×7, but employees still have to work 6 days a week. Till when will this injustice continue?”
He mentioned that there is a Huge shortage of employees due to which banking services are also affected.
The protesters stressed not only on working days but also on recruitment of new employees. They say that Due to the huge shortage of staff in banks, work pressure is increasing. They said that banks are running under a shortage of staff due to which there is a lot of pressure on bank employees, Every in the country is dependent on banks, and we can see a lot of rush at banks but due to the shortage of employees banks, current employees are facing a lot of issues, in terms of long queues, Customer dissatisfaction and many more.
Protester says that there is a need to do permanent recruitments rather than contractual ones to reduce the burden as well as increase the service quality.
Bankers on the path of agitation, warning of strike!.
They said that this is the demonstration and this is just the start.If government will not hear us then there will be a big protest on March 3. This protest will be nationwide.
