The election Commission announced the scheduled assembly election about to be held in Delhi. This election will decide the fate of the Delhi people in the coming years. As per the date announced election polling date will be the 5th Feb and the result of this election will be declared on the 8th Feb. This information was shared by CEC Rajiv Kumar in the press conference.
As Per the press Conference, single-phase gazette notification for single-phase voting will be issued on the 10th of January. The last date for filling nomination will be on 17th January.
If a candidate wants to withdraw his/her nomination then the last date for the same will be January 20.
The schedule is below:
- Issue of notification: 10-Jan-2025 on Friday
- Last Date for Filling Nomination: 17-Jan-2025 on Friday
- Finalization of nomination 18-Jan-2025 on Saturday
- The last Date for withdrawal is 20-Jan-2025 on Monday
- Voting Date 05-Feb-2025 on Wednesday
- Counting Date 08-Feb-2025 on Saturday
- The final date to conclude is 10-Feb-2025 on Monday

CEC Rajiv Kumar addressed concerns raised by political parties
He said a mock poll will be conducted before actual polling.
As per his statement, electronic voting machines are kept in strong rooms very carefully and also under CCTV surveillance.
The machines will be sealed in the presence of all stakeholders.
For counting also they will take all precautionary measures.
The current government in Delhi:
As of now AAM Aadmi Party is the ruling party in Delhi. The last election was held in 2020. In Delhi Assembly, there are a total of 70 seats and AAP won the election by getting 62 seats out of 70. This was a huge win for AAP in last 2020 election. The runner-up party BJP in this election won the rest 8 seats. Congress was unable to open its account in Delhi. Aam Aadmi party had a big win over other parties.
Delhi is the capital of India and plays an important role in Indian politics. So the whole nation is keeping an eye on this election.

Voter Count in Delhi
As per the census, the current eligible voter population of Delhi is 1.55 Cr. Out of which count of Male Voters is 83.50 lakh and Female voters are 71.74 lakh. Another gender is 1260 approx. Out of these voters, first-time eligible voters are 2.75 lakh voters.
