Aviation Turbine Fuel Prices Increase While LPG Drops
LPG becomes economically cheaper to business users while there is no hope for airline operators. Prices of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) registered an increase of as much as 5.6 per cent, leading to more expensive flight tickets.
- Delhi: Now, ATF is priced at ₹95,533.72 per kiloliter (up by ₹5,078.25).
- Mumbai: Prices have increased from ₹84,511.93 to ₹89,318.90 per kiloliter.
This increase comes right after a very small decrease in the price during January of 2025. So, while LPG fares ease, air travel may cost a bit more.
Commercial LPG Price Slump After Consistent Hikes
For five months straight, commercial LPG prices were on the rise, and now the prices have come down again for the second time in recent months:
1st January 2024- ₹14.5 price cut
February 2025- price of ₹7 reduced.
It’s no big amount. But businesses will take any relief they can get.
No Change in Domestic LPG Prices
Household LPG prices have remained stagnant: A household will still pay ₹803 for a 14.2 kg cylinder.
Household LPG prices have not changed even with commercial LPG prices. Future changes in domestic rates will depend primarily on international fuel trends and government policies.
What This Means for You
Thereby, it becomes good for businesses-slightly less for commercial LPG users-not so good for air travelers-increasing AFT prices can mean expensive flights for them-nothing for households-no change in domestic LPG prices.
Fuel rates keep shuffling, so keep checking back. We will see how this one turns out!
