Why SUCH CHANGES UNDER FASTAG RULES?
The new rules under FASTAG can:
1. Ease Traffic Clogs at Toll Booths
2. Make Toll Payment Transparent and Efficient
3. Stop Wrong Deductions and Blacklisted Tags
4. Enable Seamless Transactions for Every Person Traveling on Roads.
So, the hours spent at toll booths will be reduced which will eventually help in faster processing time.
FASTag Rules 2025: Major Changes that You Should Know About
1. No Payment for Blacklisted FASTags
In case you have your FASTag blacklisted more than 60 minutes before reaching the Toll Booth, or it gets blacklisted for about 10 minutes after the scanning, the payment does not go through.
Users are given a time window of 70 minutes up until their approach to the toll plaza to correct their FASTag status.
2. Last-Minute Recharge for FASTag Did Not Go Through
If your FASTag is blacklisted and you recharge it just before arriving at the toll booth, it will not be reactivated immediately.
For your recharge not to fail, do it 60 minutes before scanning.
3. Penalty of a Blacklisted FASTag Existence at Toll Booths
If your FASTag is already blacklisted, and inactive after scanning then, the payment will not go through and you will be charged by double the toll fee.
However, if within 60 minutes before scanning or within 10 minutes after scanning, you recharge then the toll fee will be as the normal had no penalty.
How to Avoid FASTag Issues and Penalties?
So, ensure smooth toll payments happen by:
1. Regular checking of FASTag balance through your bank FASTag portal.
2. At least 60 minutes before getting to the toll booth, recharge your FASTag.
