There is good news for Jharkhand government employees and pensioners! In the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, a 7% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) has been approved. This increase will come into effect from July 1 last year.
How much has the dearness allowance increased?
Under the Sixth Central Pay Commission, the dearness allowance of the employees has now increased from 239% to 246% of their basic salary. That is, now the employees will get more money than before!
Pensioners also benefit
Not only employees, pensioners will also get the benefit of this decision. Under the Sixth Pay Commission, the Dearness Relief (DR) of pensioners has also been increased from 239% to 246%.
Good news for those in the Fifth Pay Commission too
Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Ranjan told the media that under the Fifth Pay Commission, the DA of government employees has been increased from 443% to 455% from July 1, 2024.
What else happened in the cabinet?
Along with increasing the DA, the Cabinet has approved a total of 12 proposals, some of the important ones of which are as follows:
Women allowed night shift: Now women can work in factories from 7 pm to 6 am on their own will.
Factory Amendment Bill-2024: To promote ease of doing business and in line with the Business Reform Action Plan of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Factory Amendment Bill-2024 has been approved.
Changes in the rules for Anganwadi Sevika and Sahayika: Amendments to the selection and honorarium rules of Anganwadi Sevika and Sahayika have been approved.
Special exemption to MSMEs: Special exemption is proposed for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the state, the bill of which will be introduced in the upcoming budget session.
Division of assets of Bihar State Industrial Development Corporation and Bihar State Electronic Development Corporation Limited: After the division of the state, the division of assets and liabilities of Bihar State Industrial Development Corporation and Bihar State Electronic Development Corporation Limited has been approved.
In brief: The Jharkhand government has given the gift of 7% increase in dearness allowance and relief to employees and pensioners. Along with this, many other important proposals have also been approved, which will accelerate the development of the state.
