PM Modi landed USA in the early hours of 13 Feb 2025, After Arriving in Washington DC on Thursday IST to have a scheduled meeting with President Trump. He first met US intel chief Tulsi Gabbard and had a scheduled meetup with tech billionaire Elon Musk.
This is the first and foremost bilateral meeting after Trump started his presidency. After the heightened tensions as Trump’s decision to increase trade tariffs came to light and as he is taking divisive decisions over matters like the GAZA peace plan and ongoing mass deportation of illegal immigrants since he took the post.
Reportedly, these issues will be the discussions of the meeting as both leaders are present to strengthen ties. PM Modi is 4th among all the leaders globally to visit the White House since Trump took the chair. Earlier Israel, Japan, and Jordan visited the US to congratulate Trump on his second presidency and have bilateral discussions.

Indians are following news with the hope that Narendra Modi will have return gifts during his visit as the discussion over increased LNG combat vehicles and jet engine purchases will happen. Indian officials are looking forward to trade negotiations.
