PNB Issues Comprehensive Guidelines on Customer Do’s and Don’ts to Ensure Smooth Banking Experience

PNB has urged its customers to remain alert for any suspicious links and fake messages, in today’s world of increasing cyber fraud and online scams, especially using digital payment and UPI services because cyber thieves have been identified as using the above methods for the theft of personal information and bank details.

PNB Alerts on Cyber Fraud:

Fake Links:  These are often sent out by cyber attackers to customers looking to steal your data,  most of such links are well masked as bank activity like account information updates, QR code verification, or fake debit transactions.

Suspicious Calls or Messages: Please disregard any unusual calls or messages that ask for a click for something. At no point be giving your Banking details, Passwords, and OTP to others.

Stay Vigilant: PNB has advised clients to not open any suspicious email links. Any link you think is suspicious call your bank, or visit its website or the app to see if it holds any truth to it.

 

What to do?

Do Not Click on Suspicious Links: You should not open links sent in unknown email messages or phone calls.

Protect Your OTP & PIN: Never share your user ID, password, PIN, or OTP with any unknown person because these are crucial for banking security.

Use Secure Websites: Always use official and verified websites for banking transactions.

Avoid Fake Links and Websites:

Cybercriminals use fake websites and links that look like official banking sites, Always verify the URL before proceeding.

Avoid Scamy Investment Opportunities:

A website or app promising to double your money in a short time is a scam. Research any investment and never take anything too good to be true.

Not Responding  to Suspicious Calls and Messages:

Never share any information like bank account numbers, OTPs, or passwords via phone call or message from an unknown number.

Safe Your Passwords and OTPs:

Utilize your banking passwords and OTPs only through official channels. Never share them, even if the caller or message appears trustworthy.

Identify Cyber Fraud Signals:

If the website or application asks you to send money right away or it is offering deals that seem too good to be true, then it’s a scam.
