In an Oath ceremony held at Ramlila Maidan, a place recognized for the major paradigm shift in politics of Delhi about a decade ago, Rekha Gupta sworn as new chief minister of Delhi. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, major party leaders and citizens of Delhi.
A Historic milestone
Rekha Gupta, who became first time MLA from Shalimar Bagh constituency has paved her way out to create history by becoming Delhi’s fourth Woman chief minister. She was the part of ABVP since 1992. She earlier fought contest and became President of Delhi University (DUSU) in 1996-1997. Over the last 30 years she has been taking up various position within BJP including serving as Gen sec of Mahila Morcha. Her upgradation to the post of CM is result of this hard work and dedication.
Oath taking Ceremony of CM Rekha Gupta
Ceremony commenced with Lieutenant governor VK Saxena administering the oath of office to Rekha. PM Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda and many more BJP leaders attended the ceremony. The presence of these high profile leaders made the ceremony more eventful.
In her Inaugural speech, CM Gupta expressed gratitude to the leadership of party for giving her this responsibility to lead party in Delhi. She recalls her commitment and resolution and made promises to work tirelessly for development and welfare of Delhi’s welfare.
She expressed her happiness and gratitude by saying that it is miraculous to be at this place and women empowerment is more enhanced by this.
Along with Gupta many cabinet ministers took oath as cabinet minister of Delhi under leadership of Rekha.

Security and Logistics
For the event , where various high profile people security was a main concern. Over 25000 security guards including many paramilitary forces have been deployed to ensure safety and security and maintain the order. Security at strategic points, PCR vans Swat teams were positioned at all the critical positions. Snipers were stationed at high rise buildings surrounding the ceremony venue.
AAP leader extended congratulations to Rekha Gupta for the new responsibility. Atishi remarked that AAP will withstand with new CM in order to harness development of Delhi.
After a decade as BJP assumes responsibility of Delhi, the new administration will face the dual challenge of delivering on the promises party does at time of election and meeting the expectations of a variable and secular population. Key areas of main focus are to be infrastructure development ,ensuring safety of women, healthcare, education, and employment opportunities. The new government has taken oath to work collaboratively with stakeholders to foster a healthy environment of inclusive growth and clean and green governance.
