The Prayagraj route was jammed for several hours

Prayagraj Sangam train station was closed due to huge crowds outside the station walls. Officials said 10 lakh Kalpvasis among 46.19 lakh people had taken bath in Sangam till 8 am on Monday. Since Maha Kumbh started a month ago, around 44 crore dips in Sangam have taken place.

Akhilesh had cornered Yogi government which was stuck in Prayagraj traffic jams. On Sunday, Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav criticized the UP government for the massive traffic congestion in Prayagraj.

He believes that devotees at Maha Kumbh are experiencing significant inconvenience. On “X”, Yadav wrote, “There is no food grains, vegetables, spices to eat or drink; nor are there medicines, petrol, diesel in Prayagraj due to traffic jams”. It’s unbearable for crores of thirsty, hungry and tired devotees.
