UPSC CSE: The major update coming from UPSC is that candidates can now edit some details during One Time Registration to fill out online applications.
In detail updates-
The Union Public Service Commission has announced some amendments in the preliminary civil services examination 2025. They have issued a notice stating that edits can be made in OTR (One Time Registration) to fill out the online application form. This alteration has been made by the commission due to rising technical glitches while applying.
The last date to apply for the preliminary civil service examination 2025 has also been extended to February 18. However, no alterations can be made to the below-mentioned details:
Date of birth
Name (as per class 10th)
Mobile number
Father name
Mother Name
Email id
Edits are allowed for details such as gender, minority status, and class 10th board exam roll number.
If a candidate has lost access to his registered mobile number and has access to his or her email ID, he or she can apply to change the mobile number. An OTP will be sent to the registered email ID to complete the process.
However, if a candidate loses access to his email ID but has access to his or her registered mobile number, he or she can apply for changing email ID. In this process, an OTP will be sent to a registered mobile number.
If by any chance the candidate has lost access to both his email ID and contact number, he or she has to send a request to the commission to make necessary amendments.
Applications have to be submitted to otrupsc@gov.in in addition to a metric certificate, aadhar card, PAN card or passport or driving license, passport-size photograph, and undertaking.
Instruction for Divyang Candidates
The commission has announced that eligible persons with benchmark disability who wish to opt for their own scribe have to mandatorily provide the details of their own scribe for preliminary exams.
However, the PwBD candidates who wish to take the help of their own scribe in the Civil Services Mains exam can voluntarily provide details of the scribe.
Divang candidates should also provide their UDID issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment or any other valid disability certificate on the official UPSC website.
A total of 979 posts have been announced, including IAS and IPS by UPSC CSE. Online applications can be applied on upsconline.nic.in. UPSC CSE prelims 2025 exam will be organized on 25th May 2025.
