Ingredients Required:
Lentils and Rice: Urad Dal (1 cup), rice(1 cup)
Vegetables: Carrot, Ricesicum, Potato, Ginger, Green Peas
Spices: Turmeric, Salt, Cumin, Black Pepper Powder, Coriander Powder
Ghee and Tadka: Desi Ghee (2 tsp), Dry Red Chillies
Method of Preparation:
Prepare lentils and rice. Wash them thoroughly and soak them for 20 minutes.
Cut vegetables: Wash and cut carrots, potatoes, capsicum and ginger into small pieces.
Tadka: Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, then add cumin seeds and dried red chillies.
Cook vegetables: Add the vegetables to the tempering, along with turmeric, salt, black pepper powder, and coriander powder. Cover and cook for a while.
Add soaked lentils and rice liquorice to the vegetables and fry for a minute.
Add water: To dry the khichdi, add as much water as is required to cook the lentils and Rrice lose cooker; Cook in the Riceer till two whistles.
Serve: Serve the prepared khichdi with desi ghee, curd, papad and pickle.
